To cut a long story short…

They say you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl.
Since 2001, I’ve been proud to call Wellington home but I grew up on a farm between Hastings and Taihape on the Ngaruroro River not far from the Kaweka Ranges. That still feels like home too.
I’m a guest speaker & advocate raising awareness of menopause.
As a guest speaker and advocate, I’ve shared my experience and knowledge of menopause/ruahinetanga with 40+ government organisations, businesses, associations, networks and communities including Air New Zealand; Commonsense Organics; Creative New Zealand; FMG; New Zealand Defence Force; Inland Revenue - Te Tari Taake; Kāinga Ora; Sharesies; Transpower; University of Canterbury; Wellington City Council; WSP; Xero… You can find out more here.
I’m a content writer with a background in marketing & communications.
Since studying a Bachelor of Commerce, Management and Marketing at Lincoln University (1991-1993), I’ve taken on permanent, contract and freelance marketing & communications roles for good sorts doing good things: start-ups and entrepreneurs; small businesses, design agencies, city councils, crown-owned entities and not-for-profits.
In Christchurch, London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Wellington, I've had the privilege of working with people passionate about: organics, upcycling and biodiversity; children’s rights, psychology and well-being; independent films; smart technology; design, architecture and photography; and economic development. You can check out my latest writing projects here.
I also write stories for children.
In 2014, I studied Creative Writing for Children at VUW’s International Institute of Modern Letters. Since then I’ve written four non-fiction stories for the School Journal and had one of my stories - told in three words and 12 photographs - published in Annual 3. Until I’m ready to launch some of my short stories into the world, I have the pleasure of sharing them with my biggest fans and best critics - my two children.
