Sharesies

Like many children, I dreamt of money growing on trees. Luckily, my parents taught me that earning, saving and investing were better bets. I grew up with a piggy bank, a savings account and welcome chunks of cash from selling pinecones to new and long-standing customers. As a teenager in the 1980s, I bought a few shares but had to invest a minimum amount and go through a broker with my parents’ help.

But not any more. Thanks to the wealth development platform Sharesies, people with $5 or $5 million have an opportunity to invest in their future. People like Alex and Hannah in Australia; Neal & Tahni, Luigi, Maddy, Alexx, Sam, Stella, and Te Kahukura (Māori Millionaire) in New Zealand. Interviewing a diverse bunch of investors and writing stories about their experiences of money and investing was a grown-up dream come true. The investor journeys help drive traffic to Sharesies’ website, engage their current investors, and encourage new investors to make a start.
